The move better aligns CBIZ CPAs' attest practice with CBIZ's non-attest practice and reduces confusion in the marketplace.

Mayer Hoffman McCann (MHM) has changed its name to CBIZ CPAs, the Kansas City, MO-based firm said on Aug. 21.
The now-former MHM is a national independent CPA firm with which CBIZ has had an administrative service agreement for more than 25 years. It’s a separate legal entity from CBIZ.
With 35 offices nationwide, the firm specializes in audit and attest services for businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
“While MHM remains a strong brand, this change will better align CBIZ CPAs’ attest practice with CBIZ’s non-attest practice, reduce confusion in the marketplace, and present our collective clients with a clearer statement of who we are as well as the depth of services and breadth of expertise we offer,” CBIZ CPAs President Andrew Gragnani said in a statement.
Clients will see no change and “can expect to receive the same high level of service they always have,” CBIZ CPAs said.
CBIZ and CBIZ CPAs are both members of the Kreston Global network, a global network of independent accounting firms that provide clients access to local contacts in more than 110 countries.
CBIZ recently announced it was acquiring fellow top 15 accounting firm Marcum, the largest deal in CBIZ’s 37-year history. The transaction is expected to put CBIZ among the seventh largest in the U.S. by revenue after the transaction closes later this year.
Cleveland-based CBIZ, which is a publicly traded accounting services provider (NYSE: CBZ), will acquire the non-attest business of Marcum, while CBIZ CPAs will acquire Marcum’s attest business.
