Martin to Lead CohnReznick’s Boston and Greater Massachusetts Offices

CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading advisory, assurance, and tax firms in the United States, recently announced that Kevin P. Martin, Jr. is assuming the role of Office Managing Partner – Massachusetts effective February 1, 2023. This significantly expands Martin’s leadership role in the state as he will now lead the Boston office in addition to maintaining his current responsibilities managing the Braintree, Danvers, and Fall River offices.

Baker Newman Noyes Announces Four New Principals Across Practices

Baker Newman Noyes (BNN), a nationally recognized top 100 accounting and advisory firm, recently announced four new principal promotions in its Manchester, NH; Woburn, MA; and Portland, ME, offices.  

Jessica Bouchard, CPA, Daniel Gayer, J.D., CPA, Scott McKenzie, CPA, and Julie Paquette, CPA, have all been promoted to principal, effective January 1, 2023.

Jessica Bouchard, of Henniker, NH, who joined the firm’s Manchester, NH office in 2009, specializes in delivering audit and other attestation services to commercial, financial services, and nonprofit clients. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern New Hampshire University, and currently serves as a Director to the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Daniel Gayer joined the firm’s tax practice in 2011. Based in the Portland, ME office, he serves corporate clients across a variety of industries, particularly technology, manufacturing, and distribution.  Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Harvard University and a juris doctor from the University of Maine School of Law.

Scott McKenzie brings more than 20 years of experience to his role at BNN and joined the firm in 2020. As the inaugural member of the firm’s transaction advisory services practice, he specializes in financial due diligence and mergers and acquisition support services. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, from Gordon College. McKenzie has been a longtime volunteer with Beverly Little League and other nonprofit organizations in the Boston area.

Julie Paquette, of Scarborough, ME, began her career in BNN’s assurance practice in 2006. She specializes in the healthcare and nonprofit industries, and serves clients out of the firm’s Portland, ME office. Throughout her career, Paquette has served some of the largest healthcare clients at BNN. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Joseph’s College.

Kaufman Rossin Designates Lynn Brewer As Entrepreneurial Services Director

Kaufman Rossin, the largest independent accounting firm in Florida and one of the top 100 CPA and advisory firms in the U.S., recently announced the designation of Lynn Brewer, EA, as director in the entrepreneurial services practice. 

Brewer has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. In addition to helping U.S.-based businesses with tax and accounting, she works with the firm’s international tax division to assist foreign clients with U.S. tax obligations, including tax compliance, client consultations and IRS representation. As an Enrolled Agent, she is authorized to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. 

Brewer earned her Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting from Florida Atlantic University and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from Lancaster University. 

Vladislav ‘Vlad’ Rudnitsky joins Kaufman Rossin as CISO   

Kaufman Rossin, one of the top 100 CPA and advisory firms in the U.S., announced that Vladislav “Vlad” Rudnitsky recently joined the firm as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), where he will be responsible for safeguarding the firm’s systems and applications, employee and client data from cyberattacks and other information security threats. 

Rudnitsky brings over 20 years of experience in Information Technology and Cybersecurity in global and multibillion-dollar companies, with industry experience across Financial Services, Energy/Manufacturing, and U.S. Military – Air Force. He takes pride in being a results-driven and business-focused technology leader, with a passion for building world-class organizations and driving change by engaging with all lines of business. 

Heidy Duarte of Kaufman Rossin appointed co-chair of FIBA Women’s Leadership Committee

 

Kaufman Rossin, the largest independent CPA and advisory firm in Florida and one of the top 100 firms in the U.S., recently announced that Risk Advisory Services Principal Heidy Duarte, CAMS, AMLCA, CFS, CFE, CPA has been elected to serve on the Financial & International Business Association’s (FIBA) Women’s Leadership Committee as 2023 co-chair. 

Duarte is a highly skilled professional with international experience in public accounting, financial services, and other private sectors with a proven track record in assessing risks combined with extensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

She also has significant experience in fraud risk assessments and investigations, leading to the development and strengthening of fraud prevention and detection procedures. 

Duarte earned her bachelor’s and master’s of accounting from Florida International University and completed a Risk Management for Corporate Leaders program from Harvard Business School Executive Education.
