On Wednesday, ADP released its monthly employment report, showing an increase in private-sector employment of 198,000. The company, which offers a broad array of payroll, human resources, benefits and other services and technologies for businesses, conducts a survey of its business clients.
The jobs report, which always precedes the U.S. Department of Labor’s monthly report, hsowed an increase of 77,000 jobs in small businesses, 65,000 new jobs in medium sized businesses, and 57,000 new jobs in large businesses.
Jobs in the trades/transportation/utilities sector increased at the highest rate, followed by professional/business services and construction jobs.
“In February 2013, the U.S. private sector added a total of 198,000 new jobs, with most of this job growth occurring in the services sector,” said Carlos A. Rodriguez, president and chief executive officer of ADP. “This growth can be attributed to comparable contributions across all three company size segments.”
