What’s at Stake? A CPA’s Insights into the Federal Government’s Finances

In a new video, Gregory Anton, a CPA and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), provides a non-partisan analysis into why he thinks the U.S. government’s financial statements provide a different perspective compared to the government’s annual budget.

Anton and the AICPA are trying to raise awareness of the distinction, and also bring attention to how and why the financial sustainability of the country is affected. The AICPA, the voice of the country’s public accounting profession, has called on both policymakers and the public “to engage in a national dialogue to improve our country’s fiscal health.”
