Weatherford Announces New Officer
Weatherford International Ltd. has appointed John H. Briscoe, CPA as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Briscoe was previously Weatherford’s Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. He has more than 30 years of accounting experience and has worked for Transocean Ltd., KPMG and Ernst & Young. Briscoe graduated from the University of Texas with a B.B.A. in Accounting.
Brown Thornton Pacenta and Company, P.A. Appoints New Managers
Brown Thornton Pacenta and Company, P. A. has promoted several staff members within its firm. Paul C. Barrett, CPA; Catherine Thornton Bond, CPA; Alvin Joseph and Kathy Nelson, CPA were all promoted to senior manager, Stacie Court to manager and Donna J. Neal to office manager.
Barrett has experience in the areas of software sales, small business taxation, governmental audit and construction accounting. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and is a member of the AICPA, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Business Networking International.
Bond graduated from the University of West Florida with bachelor’s degree and is a member of Pensacola Young Professionals, AICPA and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Court’s expertise is in accounting and taxes for individual and small to medium companies. She received her master’s degree from Golden Gate University and is treasurer for EscaRosa Coalition on the Homeless.
Within the technology services division, Joseph has provided technical support to small and medium-sized businesses, helping them to establish, configure and maintain hardware, software and network connectivity.
Neal has worked for Brown Thornton Pacenta and Company for more than 17 years.
Nelson has 30 years of tax, audit and accounting experience. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Troy State University and is a member of Business Networking International, AICPA, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Estate Planning Council.
Two New Senior Vice Presidents Appointed at the Principal Financial Group
The Principal Financial Group recently appointed Angela Sanders, CPA and Roberto Walker to senior vice president of The Principal and Principal International Latin America, respectively.
Sanders will maintain her role as controller in the corporate accounting department. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Iowa.
Walker will continue as president of Principal International Latin America. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with specializations in economics and finance from Universidad de Chile and has experience working with Citibank Global Asset Management as a chief investment officer and managing director.
Jeff Wakely, CPA Named Chief Financial Officer
GlassHouse Technologies, a global provider of independent data center consulting and managed services, has appointed Jeff Wakely, CPA as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the company’s global finance and administrative functions. Wakely has years of experience as chief financial officer and treasurer for different companies. He received his bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Wake Forest University and has served on various speaking panels in the profession.
Hercules Technology Growth Capital Announces New CFO
Hercules Technology Growth Capital, Inc., provider of customized debt financing for entrepreneurial venture capital and private equity-backed companies, announced the recent appointment of Jessica Baron, CPA as Chief Financial Officer.
Baron has served as the vice president of finance and interim CFO since June 2011 and has been instrumental in all aspects of the company’s financial reporting, financial process and systems design and implementation. She graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor’s of art degree in Human Biology and a master’s of art degree in Sociology. Baron received her MBA with an emphasis in finance from the University of California at Berkeley.
